Meaning Of Dreams

One website describes itself as the A-Z guide to determining the meaning of dreams. Its Web address is petrix.com. Using this guide someone can piece together the images found in their dreams to come up with an overall meaning. The website lists a number of main categories for these images. The categories are animals, calendar, body parts, color, seasons, and a catchall category for everything else. An article in the Los Angeles Times recommended the site. Let’s take a look at some of these categories and what they contain.

Animals are often prevalent in dreams and therefore important to the meaning of dreams. This category covers a wide variety of the animals you’ll see in the zoo or in your dreams. An alligator for instance represents primordial fear. It’s a caution, a warning against making snap decisions. If there are ants in the dream that represents hard work and business success. It doesn’t say how to interpret a dream about ants eating you. If an elephant is in your dreams that represents wisdom and persistence. Keep at a difficult task. However lice denote worry and distress.

Calendars in dreams have a lot to do with the meaning of dreams. January as a sign of financial gains. It also denotes a solution to a problem and that a friend may not be what they appear to be. December in a dream means that wealth will soon be yours, but also that a friend will be lost. April in a dream means pleasure and profit is just around the corner. But if the dream includes bad weather along with this vision of April, there could be troubling times ahead.

The next important category for the meaning of dreams is body parts. Dreaming of an ankle means there’ll be trouble followed by a success. Don’t give up. Dreaming of cheeks denotes longer life and prosperity. The finger is what lets you feel. People use the hand and fingers to reach out and touch the world. So dreaming of a finger is a sign of feeling and caring. Look into things, be curious. Each body part has its own unique meaning.

Those are only some of the categories of elements that can be in a dream. All of these elements are keys to determining the meaning of dreams.

Dream Kelly

The primary web site bears her name, Dream Kelly. The website offers a free gallery which includes pictures of her clothed, and censored pictures of her nude. The censored pictures either hide certain areas bright stars, or with small spots of blur. Oddly, one of the pictures that’s censored doesn’t censor any part of her body. What’s blurred out is the front of the box of Froot Loops. Logos and brands are often removed from places where there is no permission to use them.

It may seem counterintuitive that the company which makes Froot Loops wouldn’t want all the free advertising it could get. But it really does make sense. A brand is associated with certain images, and appeals to certain people. Froot Loops is a kid’s cereal. They wouldn’t want to be associated with an adult themed website.

Like most adult websites, Dream Kelly includes both video and pictorial previews. The videos are short teasers designed to encourage people to join the website. This can be done for $29.99 a month. However, there is also a three day trial for $2.93. This allows people to get a complete idea of what this site offers.

There was a time when adult sites of this nature offered free three-day trials. But Dream Kelly probably knows what many of the sites learned. People will join for the free three days, download as much as they can, and never return. Poor Kelly could never make a living that way.

Most of the images presented by Dream Kelly are part of the themed photo sets. These might include images of her frolicking at the pool. Also, according to the preview section, there is a pictorial of her doing homework while undressing. Not that many people do homework while naked. But whatever sells memberships.

Dream Kelly has a MySpace site. Its primary purpose is to lead people to her main website. She also has a blog, which serves the same purpose. She has a number of sites similar to her main site. These serve as portals to attract more members. In addition, this popular model appears on third-party portal sites. These are generally affiliates which receive some amount when people sign up for the website to which they link.

Dream Kelly is very popular online. Maybe you’ll meet her someday.

Dream House

One site where people can search for their dream house is Dream House Source. It contains floor plans, drawings, and blueprints of some of the top homes designed by some of the top home designers in the country. The site promises the visitor can save money by downloading these plans. This is because hiring an architect to design a home is very expensive.

Like many home sites this site that helps people find their dream house includes a detailed search. Users can enter the square footage they desire, the dimensions of the house in width and height, the number of bedrooms, the number of bathrooms, how many stories the house has, and even how many cars would fit in the garage. But unlike with other websites this one returns plans. There is a cost to purchase each plan which can then be downloaded as either a reproducible master or various number of sets of blueprints. Because many blueprints can be made from the master it is the most expensive option.

Some of these plans cost $1000 or more. That seems like a lot to pay just for a drawing of a dream house. But it’s not. These are plans and blueprints ready for the contractor and builders to use to build a home. An architect would charge many times this price to design a home. The savings comes from using a plant found in a pool of home designs rather than having one custom-made.

The same company who runs the website for a dream house distributes plans in magazines, consumer books, and special publications. The company has been around for over 50 years.

Almost any kind of dream house can be found here. There are categories of styles including Spanish style homes, beach homes, homes for first time buyers, and even luxury homes. The plans can even be customized. The site also includes a cost to build calculator. This begins with the plan, then moves to the choice of materials and customizations. In two days the cost to build estimate is delivered. It even comes with an online budget tool. The cost for this service is only $29.95.

If you’re looking for a dream house, this is only one example of the many resources that can be found on the Internet.

Sleep Dreams

Sleep dreams, aka. a dream, is an experienced many people have when they sleep. It relates to their inner thoughts, sometimes to their desires. These generally involves images, sites, and sounds ? not always necessarily in any sensible order.

One interesting way to find information about a topic is to do a Google image search on it. Sleep dreams brings up a lot of interesting pictures. One of them is from a tattoo e-zine. It appears to be a child superimposed over clouds in a grassy field in front of a forest near an ocean and a lighthouse. It’s a very good depiction of the type of imagery seen in dreams. Individually they make little sense. And at first blush it would seem that they have no relation to each other. But someone who is somewhat skilled in interpreting dreams could tell you exactly what the images mean.

Another photo that comes up for the search term sleep dreams is of a woman sleeping. There are electrodes connected to her face and forehead. She’s involved in a sleep dream study. The article, in Scientific American, relates new discoveries into dreaming. Sleeping less may lead to dreaming more. That is if you miss sleep one night you’re more likely to dream the next night. Sleep deprivation leads to a deeper sleep. So if you’re looking to dream, sleep a little bit less the day before.

Another sleep dreams photo is more of a cartoon drawing. It’s another excellent depiction of the images seen in the dream. It shows a little girl sleeping in her bed. Next to the bed is a tree where the heads of various animals grow. Standing on top of her head board is a bird and a tiny house with legs. There is a fish in the bed next to her. At the foot of the bed stands an owl with tendrils, like an octopus, for arms. The bed appears to be floating in the sky. What looks like a satellite, and some shooting stars, pass by. None of the imagery is depicted as evil or scary. In fact the little girl has a peaceful smile on her face.

Another image for sleep dreams is also a cartoon drawing. This one is of a man happily laying in his bed. He must’ve been cold. Because now he has pulled the radiator from the wall. He’s using it like a cover. In real life not only would it be too heavy for him to lift, but he would be severely burned.

Google lists over 4,350,000 images for sleep dreams. That’s a lot to see.

Free Online Dream Interpretations

There are many websites where you can find free online dream interpretations. It’s an interesting subject. It dates back to the time of ancient Egypt and Greece where part of the duties of priests was to interpret dreams. They were considered messages from the gods. One excellent site is dreams an online dream dictionary.

It lists a number of categories for different images that might appear in a dream. Within each category it explains the significance of the various elements. For example in its animals category it shows the significance of the elephants, alligators, cats, dogs, bats and even frogs. Each animal has a particular significance. It means something is going on in your life and your subconscious mind is trying to tell you what that is. These things have similar meanings for various people, because we are all brought up in the same society. Within our culture objects, people, animals, and everything means something to us.

One of the categories in this site that offers free online dream interpretations is color. Let’s take a look at what some of the colors mean. Black is a color that has to do with loneliness in a period of transition or change. It might signify conflict, maybe arguments, with people you know. As expected red is the color of passion. It means sensitivity and strong emotions in relationships. Blue is the color of peace. If your dream is dominated by the color blue you’re probably happy. Each color is listed and an explanation given the significance.

Each of the seasons has a meaning as well. And this site that offers free online dream interpretations explains them all. Spring is the season of new life. In a dream it means optimism about something that’s happening in the future. It could also mean happiness with your companions or friends. Summer is the season of prosperity. If your dream takes place in this season you are satisfied and your aspirations have been fulfilled. Autumn means change. It could mean you’re expecting bad times as well as good. Winter is the season of rest. For example, bears hibernate in the winter. It means you’re happy and expect to reap the rewards of good financial planning.

The final category is a catchall. It includes people, health, situations, places, everything else not covered in the previous categories. It’s organized alphabetically. Accident is one of the things covered there. So if your dream is about an accident, you’re expecting the unexpected. You may feel threatened by some situation happening in your life. The catchall category in this site a free online dream interpretations includes hundreds of other items to explore.

Free online dream interpretations can be useful as well as fun.

Free Dream Analysis

Free dream analysis isn’t easy to find. In ancient Egypt priests helped people analyze their dreams. The thought was the gods were delivering messages, and it was important to know what the gods were trying to say. Likewise the Greeks had temples dedicated to sleep and dream interpretation. They too believed the gods try to help people through dreams. Such help was often in the form of advice for healthy living. Priests would help people determine the intended message from the gods.

But none of this was free dream analysis. Priests in ancient Egypt and ancient Greece were employed by kings, in Egypt the pharaohs. Those who weren’t employed by royalty maintained temples. Visiting the temples would involve some type of donation, or even a sacrifice. It’s not much different from the modern world in which psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists charge people to talk about their problems. This often includes dreams.

A free dream analysis can be found, especially online. A Dream Dictionary delivers this. It organizes dream issues in seven main categories. Many of these have been detailed in the past. But the biggest category on the site is a general category for everything that didn’t make it into one of the specific categories. Items here could include events, sports, or even spirituality. It’s easy to find almost anything you’ll see in a dream.

Free dream analysis tells us that damage is significant in a dream. Damage could be associated with a storm witnessed in a dream. Perhaps it’s a tornado wiping out a block of homes. It means injury and loss. That’s pretty consistent with what people think of damage. But it can also have a positive meaning. Often before something can be built or created something else must be destroyed. So in this sense damage in the dream could mean that the person experiencing it is ready to move on, ready to rebuild.

Sometimes people experience deafness in a dream. Free dream analysis has an answer for that, too. It means a person feels some lack of communication in their life. That could mean that someone else is communicating poorly, or the person that feels that they themselves are communicating poorly. Deafness can also mean a fear of hearing something or learning some fact. For example someone who has an inkling that a loved one is about to give them bad news will dream about being deaf.

A Google or Yahoo search can help find resources for free dream analysis. Go there to learn more.

Dream Definitions

Over the course of a number of articles about dream definitions, the significance of various elements seem in a dream, have been explored and explained. Many online resources exist to help interpret dreams. A Google search can find many of them. One of the sites that has been explored is Dreams, a Dream Dictionary.

The site categorizes the elements that can be found in dreams. For a discussion of many of the categories seen earlier articles. This one focuses on the catchall category that has to do with a variety of topics. Those are things like health, spirituality, sex, and everything else not covered in one of the main categories. With a couple of clicks most any thing you’ll see or experience in a dream can be found.

Keep in mind that this isn’t fortune telling. Although ancient peoples believed that the gods delivered messages and dreams, dreams are really just a glimpse of what’s going on in your inner thoughts. Some of your attitudes, ideas, and fears that you hide even from yourselves may be revealed in the dream. Dream definitions, then, don’t reflect something from an outside source. They reflect a part of yourself.

What if there is an anchor in your dream? What are dream definitions of anchors? That denotes feelings of stability. Think about the real use of an anchor, and that makes perfect sense. It also has to do with good fortune. Consider that ships will often anchor in an area where they are safe and secure. So when you drop your anchor in a dream, you’re feeling pretty good about where you are in life.

If there is a baby in your dreams, or perhaps if you’re a baby, you’re feeling reborn. You might also be happy, because everyone knows babies have very few worries. It’s also a sign of trust. Babies depend on others for all of their needs. Even though most people can’t consciously recall memories from the time they were babies, somewhere deep in the brain those memories do exist.

What about balloons? Consider that many children will lose hold of the string on a helium balloon. They watch helplessly as their once prized possession floats off into the sky. That’s what a balloon and a dream means. But like many things balloon has multiple dream definitions. It can also mean lightheartedness. After all, nobody’s ever heard of a heavy balloon.

There are many more dream definitions for many more objects. Look around, you’ll find them.

Aerosmith Dream On

Aerosmith Dream On was the first single ever created by the group. It was featured on their 1973 debut album, Aerosmith. Steven Tyler wrote the song which was heavily influenced by the blues.

Aerosmith Dream On was the first major hit for the group. It only reached number 59 when it was originally released as a single. But in 1976 it made it all the way up to number six during its re-release. It was first played live at a Connecticut inn. Aerosmith Dream On Was later released by the group in eight compilations, as well as on two boxed sets.

Aerosmith Dream On made it into the rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 songs that shaped rock ‘n roll. Rolling Stone listed as number 172 in its 500 greatest songs of all time. Two other Aerosmith songs, Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way, are tied for this song in the minds of fans as Aerosmith’s signature song.

Many times songs, such as Aerosmith Dream On, are sampled for other music. That means short portions of the song appear in some way. Eminem sampled the song in his 2002 album the Eminem Show. Aerosmith’s lead vocalist played the guitar solo on the track. Some less well-known artists sampled or covered Aerosmith Dream On. These include Andru Donalds, and a rapper named Slim Thug.

There is a myth that the band Led Zeppelin actually wrote the song. It’s just a hoax. Buick uses the song in their commercials. Their slogan is Dream Up. It also appeared in a number of movies. These include Miracle from Walt Disney, and Last Action Hero.

Aerosmith Dream On has been featured in a number of video games. It appeared in the opening cut scene of Dead or Alive Ultimate. There is also a video game called Guitar Hero Aerosmith. The song was re-recorded just for the game. It was also downloadable for the game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Its appearance in that game was to promote the new game.

Not only has Aerosmith Dream On been featured in many live concerts, but but it has also been performed with full orchestras. In the 1990s this was done for MTV’s 10th anniversary. And in 2006 members of Aerosmith performed it with the Boston Pops. The song has been dedicated to a captured in Israeli soldier. As well as to a fan of the band was murdered.

It’s not only a piece of rock ‘n roll history, Aerosmith Dream On is a piece of American history.

Study Dreams

When a person takes up to study dreams they open a whole realm of interesting information. It can include anything from dream interpretation, to how dreams occur, to how various phases of sleep lead to dreams, and even to dreams that almost seem real.

When people study dreams one of the areas of focus is lucid dreaming. In a lucid dream a person is aware that they’re dreaming. It’s also called a conscious stream because the conscious mind is active. A lucid dreamer can change the dream. This might involve changing imagery or the entire dream environment. Lucid dreams can seem almost real, depending on how self-aware the person is during the dream.

One type of lucid dream that has been categorized when people study dreams is the dream initiated lucid dream. This type of lucid dream begins as a regular dream. But at some point the person realizes they’re dreaming.

The other type of lucid dream is the wake initiated lucid dream. Those who study dreams say this type happens when a person falls asleep and enters directly into the dream. There is no lapse of consciousness. In other words the conscious mind is active when the person is awake, and remains conscious when the dream begins.

A woman by the name of Celia Green did study dreams. In 1968 she performed a study called Lucid dreams. And she analyzed all the different aspects of these dreams. Her conclusion was that they were distinct from normal dreams, a category of their own. She believed that lucid dreams were associated with REM sleep. This is rapid eye movement sleep. It’s a sleep phase associated with the eyes moving up and down and side to side.

Like other people who study dreams, Celia was also interested in the false awakening. This is a phase of a dream when someone thinks they have woken up. However the dream continues. For example, one man reported a dream that he was a king in the Tower of Babel. An earthquake began. The tower crashed to the ground. He woke in a sweat. But then his apartment began to shake. The building fell to the ground. Then he really woke up. Celia believed that lucid dreams were connected to false awakening. Because the conscious mind is active in a lucid dream it moves the body to awaken and take action, often during a stressful period of the dream.

Another person who wanted to study dreams was Norman Malcolm. He wrote a book called Dreaming in 1959. He connected the fact that eye movements within dreams cause the physical eye to move with lucidity in dreams. His theory wasn’t proven until the 1970s in which a study involved a subject sending signals to the waking world from with in his dream. He did this by moving his eyes in predetermined patterns.

If you want to study dreams look it up online.

Dream Horse

There is a bedtime story written for busy parents to tell their children. It’s called The Dream Horse.

It begins with a little boy named Billy waking up from a nap on a Saturday afternoon. He’s dressed like a cowboy. He’s very happy. When he goes into the kitchen for a drink his mother asks why he is so happy He says that during his nap he saw his dream horse. The horse told Billy that he would go for a ride when he sleeps at night. Billy couldn’t wait for bedtime.

The mother becomes a bit alarmed. She asks about the dream horse and when Billy first saw it. She thought Billy was too old for naps. Billy told his mother that a friend from school named José told him about the siestas they take in Spain. Billy enjoyed speaking in a new language.

Billy kept asking when night would come. He wondered if he could put on sunglasses to make it come faster. His mother told him no that won’t work. Later, when Billy’s father comes home, Billy’s sister asks if she can have a dream horse. Billy’s father was amazed at his son’s imagination.

When it was time for bed Billy couldn’t talk about anything except that dream horse. He had named the horse Pal. He told his mother he would bring her a feather from the dream. He promised to bring one for his sister and father too. He quickly fell asleep.

When Billy was sleeping the dream horse nudged him in the arm and told him it was time for the ride. They went from the mountainous area around Billy’s home, to farm country. By the way, Pal could fly.

Very soon the dream horse mentioned that they were traveling in time. Some of the horse’s friends would join them. Billy met some Indians who agreed that he could go with them on the ride. The Indian was Spirit Chief of all the Indian nations. Each Indian with him represented one of the tribes that roamed America before the Europeans came.

As they ride, Billy on his dream horse, the Indians show him the land. They show him the Buffalo that used to run there. They tell Billy never to forget what he has seen. The Spirit Chief then removes three feathers from his headdress. He gives them to Billy knowing that he promised to bring them back for his family.

Billy’s parents tell them it was only a dream when he tells them about his experience with the dream horse. But then he pulls out the feathers. They are amazed. The story is pretty amazing.

Requiem For A Dream

Requiem For a Dream is a 1978 novel and film released in the year 2000. The novel was written by Hubert Selby Jr., while the film was directed by Darren Aronofky. It won an Academy award for best actress for Ellen Burstyn. This article details both the movie and the novel.

Since the novel came first it comes first here too. It follows for people all with some relationship to each other. Their names are hairy, Marion, Tyrone, and Sara. Harry and Marion are a couple. Tyrone is friends with both of them. Sara is Harry’s mother. Each of them becomes obsessed with gaining their dream. The dream leads them to addiction, and pretty horrible lives. Sara wants to be on television. She binges on diet pills to lose weight after a casting company hints that she might be selected. She ends up hospitalized. Harry, Marion, and Tyrone Seidel make money by selling heroin. But they’ll become addicted to the drug they seek to sell. Everyone’s life is ruined.

In the movie mother and son, Sara and Harry, are the main characters along with Marion and Tyrone. It’s the same as in the novel. Also like the novel it takes place during three consecutive seasons ? summer, fall, and winter.

In the Summer Sara, who is elderly and alone, watches infomercials on television all day long. She has nothing to do but eat. That makes your fat in her opinion. But her life gains new purpose when the producers of the infomercial call her to tell her she may be on the infomercial. She vows to fit into the red dress she once wore to Harry’s graduation. To accomplish this she goes on a crazy diet. When that doesn’t work she sees a doctor who prescribes amphetamines. She soon becomes addicted. Signs of this addiction are overly happy personality, and constantly grinding her teeth.

Harry and Tyrone begin a career as drug dealers. Their goal is to one day be able to afford a pound of pure heroine. Marion believes that the money Harry makes as a drug dealer will allow her to purchase a clothing store. Tyrone simply wants enough money to earn a life off the street.

A summer becomes fall Sara becomes more addicted to the amphetamines. As the dose she has been taking is no longer effective, she begins increasing the dosage. This soon causes her to hallucinate both about being on the infomercial and about her refrigerator moving through her house. Harry and Tyrone run afoul of the police. Most of the money they have earned in the summer is used for Tyrone’s bail. Not only does it become increasingly difficult to find quality heroin, but they themselves use more and more of what they purchase.

The end of the movie is very sad. In winter things spiraled to their lowest point. Harry ends up in the hospital after falling off the roof of a building, Sara is institutionalized, Tyrone is in jail, and Marion is hopelessly addicted to heroin. Everyone except Harry ends up hallucinating a fantasy world.

Requiem for a Dream is an excellent look at addiction and its aftereffects.

Innocent Dream

The name Innocent Dream applies to a number of very different things. The exploration of these different things shows the diversity of life.

One example of something called innocent dream is a photo posted on the popular website Flickr. It consists of blue flowers in the foreground with their leaves blurred in the background. It appears to be a photo that has been treated in Photoshop to become HD. That means the colors are unusually vivid in the future portions of the photo are unusually crisp. It received a large number of views as well as many accolades from the people who saw it. The poster asks, are all your dreams innocent? And then the poster concludes that if you claim they are, you must be lying.

Although they don’t have the title innocence dream there are many other photos posted on Flickr that match the search term innocent dream. One of them is a photo taken from a low angle of the Dark Duomo. It’s a cathedral in Milan. Mark Twain wrote about it. Another photo is the boy by the Ganges. It begins describing the boy sitting alone on the bank of the river. The river is overflowing, and the boy carries an umbrella. The poem goes on to discuss the boy’s thoughts. Oddly the boy in the photo does not hold an umbrella.

Many of the things named innocent dream can be found with a Google search. The phrase searching Google returns 575,000 results. Google is fast. It takes only .07 seconds to return all of these. That’s a lot of results. Most people never go to page 10 of results much less page one thousand or page 10,000. Results on those pages start deviating from the intended meaning of the search phrase.

Another innocent dream is an artist who posts on the website deviant Art. This person’s art includes haunting drawings of children. They seem to be done in somewhat of a manga style. But there are 24 pictures in this person’s gallery. Not all of them are of people. One appears to be a stylized drawing of scrolls. Another is a stylized painting of brushes. That’s something of a self-portrait.

Many people say the Internet is for pornography. Innocent dream is no different. It’s the name of a pornography portal site. It includes links to many popular pornography portals. This isn’t material appropriate for children. Some of it in fact is quite raw and unpleasant to view.

Innocent dream is like a study of the overall Internet - it’s one term that applies to many different things.

Buxom Dream

Buxom dream is a website started by a woman who is of the larger variety. As expected from the word buxom her bust size is quite large. She started the web site as a hobby and to learn how to do web coding. Let’s take a closer look.

The woman behind the buxom dream lives in Orange county in Los Angeles. She is married. According to the FAQ on the website there is nothing sexual about the site. In regard to meeting people she says she does not do that. Even people who are longtime online friends and fans of the website won’t be able to meet her. Even if it’s an arrangement where she and her husband would meet a fan in their spouse. It’s different if they would meet her at functions were both happen to be attending.

Buxom dream does not contain any nude photographs. Nor will the woman send any nude photographs. She says she does not even have nude photographs. Her husband takes all the pictures on the website. And one of her rules in their personal sexual life is no media.

Many people treat this site as some type of an adult website. They expect to see nude photographs there and maybe even videos. They think that the lack of nude pictures is just a ruse. Surely there must be a member section of the site where all the juicy material can be found. There isn’t. The site’s owner writes that if there’s any type of sexual activity someone would pay for she’s not interested in it.

Along with the website the buxom dream maintains a Yahoo profile. She does have some short video clips there. But like the photos on the website none of these videos are topless or really sexual in nature. According to the woman it’s very often impossible to download these videos.

An interesting exercise is to try to determine what buxom dream is worth. Website Outlook is a site that evaluates websites for value. It determines this by examining various page view statistics. It then determines the daily ad revenue and projects this out to two years to come up with a value for the website. For example for Google it shows 550 million daily page views for a value of $1.6 billion. Buxom dream is worth quite a bit less. According to Website Outlook it receives about 1100 views per day. From this it could generate $4.81 in daily ad revenue. That gives it a value of $3300.

There are many unique niche websites on the Internet. Buxom dream is one of them.

Dream Analysis

Dream analysis is a field that dates back thousands of years. Priests in ancient Egypt were tasked with interpreting dreams, believed to be messages from the gods. Ancient Greeks believed similarly. They had temples dedicated to healing where priests would help people interpret their dreams, hoping to find the secrets to health revealed by the gods. That was really not so different from modern psychoanalysts who try to help people determine their mental state as revealed in their dreams. But not everyone has time to visit a psychoanalyst. For them there are places online to find information about dreams.

Dreams A Dream Dictionary, is a great website for dream analysis. It categorizes almost anything and everything you can see and experience within a dream. Then it explains the significance of each of these. Past articles have discussed many of the categories found in this website. This article continues an explanation of the everything else category which contains feelings, sports, weather, and as the title suggests everything not found in the other major categories.

Clouds in dreams have a similar meaning to their motion through the skies. Dream analysis of clouds is pretty straightforward. Everyone has watched the clouds float by at one time or another. They show us the movement of the winds, and the changing weather patterns. In a dream they represent transition. People’s lives are constantly in flux. Dark clouds in the dream can be a sign of confusion. Transition often brings feelings of confusion and helplessness.

Dream analysis treats coffins negatively. Everyone knows the coffins are associated with death. In the dream a person may see a coffin, build a coffin, or even find themselves inside a coffin. Inside a coffin is simple. It relates to unpleasant matters. Often if a person is looking at a coffin in a dream it relates to the end of something, burying an event or idea. If you see someone else inside the coffin that could mean a desire to bury your relationship with them. Ending things isn’t always bad. So coffins in dreams aren’t always bad.

Many people watch court shows on television. Dream analysis covers courts to. A court is a place where a judge resolves a situation or settles a dispute. A court in a dream means resolution, problems end. But the court could also be a sign of something negative. Many people dislike conflict, and have a fear of judgment. That could be expressed in the dream.

Dream analysis is a very large and complex subject. It can’t all be covered in one short article. But it can be found online. Try a search.

Dream Interpretation

Everybody dreams. However some people want to know what their dreams mean. That’s where dream interpretation comes into the picture. Some people consider this a science some people consider it an art. But there is no doubt it’s a useful skill especially when someone wants to learn what their dreams mean.

In ancient cultures such as Greece and Egypt dreams were thought to be communications from the gods. It was often left up to sorcerers and astrologers and other soothsayers to interpret dreams. There were temples in ancient Greece where people could go to be cured of various conditions. It was believed that the gods would cure them with divine grace delivered through dreams. Therefore, it was necessary to have someone on-site, usually a priest, who could help them understand their dreams and the god’s plan for them. In ancient Egypt dream interpretation was one of the duties of a priest. The Bible records stories of David and Joseph interpreting dreams. There are even hieroglyphics that depict dreams and the process of interpreting them.

Dream analysis became popular in psychology with the work of Sigmund Freud. He published a book in 1899 called The Interpretation of Dreams. He claimed that dreams express people’s desires and inner wishes. He also held that dreams were always based on the previous day’s events. Freud developed the concept of the inner censor as the regulating portion of the mind that communicated through dreams. He later changed the name to the super ego.

According to Freud people have various resistances. In other words when they are awake they self censored themselves. They control their actions and even their conscious thoughts. The often strange nature of dreams is due to the fact that the filters are still in place even when people sleep. Freud came up with a standard set of distortions that were present in dreams, and applied these in dream interpretation. He used these to analyze the patient based on the imagery present in the dream.

In Freud’s dream analysis nightmares did not mean something bad happening in a person’s real-life. Rather, they were an expression of the ego’s frustration at being suppressed. It is often thought that everything in Freud’s dream interpretation had to do with sex. But Freud himself expressed frustration that his work with dream interpretation was often wrongly applied to this result.

Dream interpretation can be an interesting hobby.
